Title: Reflective Report – Transition to Professional Practice
Weight: 20%
Length: 1500 words ±10%

Task:
Write a reflective report analysing your transition from student to professional community services practitioner. Draw on your placement experience, relevant theories and reflective models (e.g., Schön, Gibbs), and unit content (Weeks 1–5).

Your report must:

• Use a reflective model such as Gibbs’ Reflective Cycle or Schön’s theory.
• Include at least one placement-based practice example.
• Reflect on:
  • Your transition to professional identity.
  • Challenges encountered during placement or preparation for practice.
  • Application of cultural competence and ethical self-awareness.
• Be written in first person (I/me/my) but maintain academic tone.
• Include references to unit content and at least 7 academic sources.

Structure Suggestion:

1. Introduction – Brief overview of purpose and model used.
2. Description – The experience or scenario from placement.
3. Reflection – Feelings, thoughts, and challenges faced.
4. Analysis – Application of reflective theory and cultural competence.
5. Conclusion – What you learned and how this will shape future practice.
